Purpose of Site and Authorized Use
StEPP Foundation (“StEPP”) owns and operates this website (the “Site”). StEPP is a non-profit corporation, which was organized primarily to facilitate the implementation of Supplemental Environmental Projects (the “Projects”). The Projects typically are funded by settlements from companies which are alleged or proven to have violated environmental laws or regulations. Typically, violators pay Project-designated settlement funds to or at the direction of the state or federal governmental agency which brought the action to enforce the applicable law or regulation.
StEPP has promulgated and is maintaining this Site and related databases of information in order to collect and disseminate information regarding potential Projects among the various Project participants, including Project operators, administrators, financiers and governing authorities. Information and data submitted to StEPP via this Site will be made generally available and accessible to potential financing sources and/or other parties deemed necessary by StEPP, in StEPP’s sole discretion, for the implementation of Projects. The information provided by you shall be non-confidential and non-proprietary and you must not make any claims relative to the information.
When you register at StEPP we ask you for personal information. We use this information to process your project submittal and to communicate with you about the status of your project. We also use your email address to send you messages about StEPP opportunities. In addition, when you use the Site and/or submit information to StEPP for consideration in order to determine potential participation in a Project, StEPP stores that information for future reference and may share certain Project-related information with other potential Project participants as described above. StEPP also may use information collected from you and other persons who access the Site in order to evaluate and improve the Site, related databases and the Project screening process.
StEPP believes that understanding what information potential Project participants desire when determining whether to pursue a particular project is an important part of building an efficient and user-friendly on-line environment. StEPP strives to provide a safe and secure environment for you if you choose to become an interactive participant on the Site and to further pursue one or more Projects.
StEPP has designed its Site with this belief in mind, and has promulgated these privacy practices to inform you of the policies StEPP has implemented to further the most effective Site. However, StEPP may at any time change its privacy practices; in that event, StEPP will post any changes here.
